Our Motivation
We’ve listened to what you guys kept on requesting since our brand inception in July and the launch of our first app, Hike FREE Tab Builder. Believe it or not, the majority of you guys asked for a a video app – one that’s better than what’s currently available in the Facebook hemisphere.
Even we ourselves felt like the market for video apps had already been saturated. Based on your request we’ve dug deeper though… and after analyzing the competition we’ve came to the conclusion that it’d be a tough but exciting task to come up with something new and yet again more advanced; cause yeah, there was still room for improvement… and… guess what, we’ve answered the call!
After lots of thought, investigation, comparison, hundreds of K1X Energy Drinks, code and design elaboration we are proud to say: “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the first hybrid video app for Facebook – Hike FREE Video App for Pages: YouTube/Vimeo.”

YouTube or Vimeo?
Define whether you want to display videos from your YouTube Channel, a Playlist or your Favorites. Based on the features available you can show all your Vimeo User videos, Channel, Group or a distinctive Album. For both YouTube and Vimeo you have the option to display your videos in a pre-defined order, such as:

Video Locking – What a Clever Trick!
As known from Hike FREE Tab Builder our video app supports the valuable Image Fan Gating that turns your non-fans into active fans if they want to enter your video tab. However, we went one step further this time around and added a new form of Fan Gating called “Video Locking”. This nice little feature allows you to already display your entire video gallery to your non-fans – show ‘em what you got – without them having the ability to play any of them, unless they decide to hit that “Like” button :) This feature turns out to be pretty effective in terms of generating new fans, so you better give it a direct shot!
Full Video Details – All Your Info in Facebook
We noticed that most of the competition hardly enables the users to display all the video information that is available on YouTube and Vimeo, including the complete video description that some poor intern had to write up ;) Yes, it doesn’t look nice if there is such a long text below your video clip, but is it really that hard to implement it in a cool way? Of course it’s not… and that’s why we’ve included it. Same with the total amount of views and a decent presentation of the comment box. Of course we let our users decide which of these items they want to display. They are all shown on default, but you can also hide each one of them separately with just a single click.
True Video Dimensions – No More Black Bars
Ever felt annoyed by your 16:9 videos being displayed in a 4:3 YouTube or Vimeo player? Of course you did. No one shoots video in 16:9 just to see it getting squeezed into 4:3 and vice versa. Hence, we finally solved that issue that all the other video apps don’t seem to care about. Whatever the true dimensions of your video are, Hike Video App automatically adjusts the YouTube or Vimeo player to it to always guarantee full viewing pleasure in its original format. Correctly sized video thumbnails are a given fact – of course!

Sheesh, no one wants to see the colors, button and font styles of the brand that sits behind an app. Who wants to see a yellow play button in a video tab when neither Facebook uses that color nor the brand that installed the app on its page.
